RaspAstro Moon Forecast for Your Zip

Nothing but clouds here lately 🙁 Spent a some time messing with my RaspAstroWeb python application running on my All Sky Camera Raspberry Pi. Added the ability to get the 30 day Moon forecast for a given US zip code.

Check it out here: http://vhersey.hopto.org:5000/moon/zip/90210
Replace 90210 with your zip code (US only at this time) and it should provide you with the current Moon information for your location along with the predicted rise time, set time, and phase of the Moon over the next 30 days.

This only works for US zip codes for now. There is also a issue with the rise/set times if the times happen on the same day. It works for Eastern Time (Standard and Daylight) but not when I convert to the time zone of the zip code. I’ll get that figured out soon.

I am also planning to transfer this to the other parts of RaspAstroWeb. Unless the sky clears, then it is back to observing.

Check out RaspAstroWeb using your zip code and let me know what you think.

If you want to run the RaspAstroWeb application on your own gear you can get it here: https://github.com/herseyc/RaspAstroWeb
