The finder scope on the C8 is nice, the magnification helps you find objects and get them centered in your scope easily. What I needed as a way to get a point of reference when not looking through the finder scope. That’s where this pointer comes in handy.

The pointer was very useful in helping me quickly get a rough polar alignment.  I used the laser pointer through the sight tube on the polar axis to dial in a rough polar alignment.  Worked like a charm.

It also comes in handy when try to point stars and constellations out to the kids.  It gives a bright green beam that seems to go all the way to what you are pointing out.

Even after just a couple of uses the SkyLine Laser Pointer and Bracket was well worth the investment.
